Dearest friends, I'm do apologize. I've been very busy and very distracted for the past few days so even though I didn't entirely blank on blogging yesterday, I certainly spaced on remembering to go back and post. Anyway number 7 came to me yesterday while I was having a girls' day out with my mom and sisters. The four of us and my younger cousin went to go get our nails done and while I was sitting there in the large massage chair getting my pedicure I realized how infrequently I do things like this. So for day 7 I vow to start caring for myself much more. whether that means monthly manicures or making time for a bath, it shall be done. #15

Today, I've had a very informative day in the area of nutrition. My boyfriend and I watched 2 documentaries the first one was called Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead, which I'm sure if you're a Netflix junkie like myself you've come across it before. For those of you who haven't seen it, it's about a man who's pretty overweight but not only that he had a really rare skin disease and instead of just letting things go on the way they are he decides to reboot his body and consume nothing but fruits and vegetables for 2 months. Though with the amount of nutrients he needs from the fruits and veggies he doesn't really have the time, nor the desire to physically eat them, so he starts a juice cleanse. It ends up being completely effective, he loses a ton of weight, doesn't have to take medicine for his skin condition any longer and is an all around happier person. He even helps some other people out along the way - it's really awesome.
What's not really awesome however, is Food Inc. Food Inc - also another Netflix Documentary, is about how shitty the food world is basically. I haven't had an appetite since I've seen it, but it's a really good documentary to watch. I recommend it. With all this being said, I've been wanting to juice for a long time. And when I say long time, I mean since I was like maybe 11 years old and I was watching late night infomercials and saw the one for the Jack Lalane Power Juicer. I've never been serious or consistent about it though, but I feel like now is a time in my life where I really need it and more importantly, I'm motivated enough to want to continue doing it. I talked a bit in my last blog about switching my lifestyle over, and I know this could be a great way, I just need to get started! I've already been looking up some affordable yet recommended juicers and some recipes and things like that so as soon as I know I can commit and I get all the equipment I'll be sure to blog about the journey. 18 to go (: |
